The Biltong-Mes was distributed only in Africa. The meaning of Biltong is a South African term for lean meat that has been salted and dried in strips. Americans and others would refer to this as “Jerky” . The blade was especially designed to cut this dried meat in the African Bush Camps while on Safari. This knife had low production numbers and not many have survived to be in collector quality.
The Biltong – Mes was only produced with Jacaranda Wood handles. The stag handled knife shown is a custom piece either made for an individual at PUMA or by someone else. It is a non-standard piece but shown because of its rarity.
